Penn State DuBois, in partnership with several of the region’s leading metal manufacturing companies have developed a 57-hour course for job seekers or existing employees who would like to learn basic CNC Mill operating and programming skills. Combined the Mill and Lathe course for a total of just 84 hours to learn both pieces of equipment.
A unique combination of high-level classroom and hands-on training, the classes all take place on the Penn State DuBois campus.
Utilizing some of the region’s best engineering instructors and veteran CNC operators, students gain both the knowledge and the skills to become CNC Lathe operators. Hands-on classes are taught using a brand new, state-of-the-art Smart Machine Tool mill that features FANUC Control Panels.

- Blueprint Reading I
- Metrology I
- Intro to CNC Lathe
- Industrial Math II
- Blueprint Reading II and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
- Statistical Process Control
- Industrial Math III (Geometry and Trigonometry)
- CNC Lathe Operations
- Basic G and M Codes and Machine Functions
- CNC Programming and Set-up
- CNC Lathe Troubleshooting

Cancellations and refunds
Payment is due upon registration. Students may request a registration cancellation through the start date of the course. A $25 cancellation fee will apply. No refunds will be given for withdrawal requests after the course start date. The University reserves the right to cancel course selections. If the course is cancelled, the student will be issued a full refund.
