Distinguished Professor of English Emeritus Richard Kopley new book, "Kenny and the Blue Sky," will be released on June 15. "Blue Sky" follows Kenny, a young boy who dreams of being able to reach, touch and be in the sky. Through the wonder of a child's view, the sky lowers itself one afternoon, allowing Kenny and his family and friends to experience the sky as no one else ever has.
The Penn State DuBois baseball team secured the championship in the United States Collegiate Athletics Association (USCAA) Small College World Series on Thursday, May 17, at Showers Field.
Starr Hill Winery of Curwensville recently made a $1,000 donation to support student programs at Penn State DuBois. The winery offers a "Vintner for a Day" package each year at the campus' Lion Wine and Cheese fundraising auction. The winning bidder then gets the chance to produce and bottle their own wine at the winery with a portion of sales of that wine coming back to campus. This donation is a portion of the proceeds from last year's wine named "DuBois Double Play."

Associate Professor of Mathematics and Geoscience Neyda Abreu was sought out by a national publication recently for her expertise on the solar system. An article published by Newsweek on May 9, penned by New York City-based science journalist Meghan Bartels, features quotes and other information provided by Abreu, who is an outside expert not connected with the research.
With a 10-2 win over Penn State Brandywine, Penn State DuBois claimed the 2018 Penn State University Athletic Conference baseball championship on May 7 at Showers Field. The win clinched a spot in the 2018 United State Athletic Association Small College World Series, in which DuBois is the No. 6 seed.
The annual Math Options program at Penn State DuBois once again welcomed young girls from around the region for a firsthand look at some math- and science-intensive career fields on May 8. A total of 149 seventh grade girls from 10 school districts participated in the program. They were introduced to careers and everyday activities that require skills in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Barbara Reinard, assistant teaching professor in the Penn State DuBois Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program, has been named the DuBois Educational Foundation (DEF) Educator of the Year. She was presented with the award by DEF president Craig Ball during commencement ceremonies at Penn State DuBois on Friday evening.
