Our latest Student Athlete Spotlight features Emiley Wheeler. Wheeler is a forward on the Penn State DuBois women’s basketball team and an occupational therapy assistant major. She is a graduate of Eisenhower High School near Russell, Pennsylvania.

PSUAC cancels fall and winter 2020-21 sports competition, championships

The PSUAC Executive Committee voted unanimously to cancel all intercollegiate athletics competition for fall and winter team sports during the 2020-21 academic year. The sports affected by this decision include men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, and volleyball, at Penn State Beaver, Brandywine, DuBois, Fayette, Hazleton, Greater Allegheny, Lehigh Valley, Mont Alto, New Kensington, Scranton, Schuylkill, Shenango, Wilkes-Barre and York.

Penn State to begin spring semester remotely, delay in-person classes

Penn State has decided to delay the start of in-person classes and transition to a fully remote learning environment for the beginning of the spring 2021 semester at all campus locations. This decision was made following extensive analysis and scenario planning given worsening virus conditions nationally and across the state indicating predictions of rising hospitalization rates in the coming weeks.

Like the countless trees that have reclaimed Pennsylvania’s once cleared forest land, an effort has taken root to help preserve the history of communities founded upon the heritage of the region’s lumber industry. David Kozlowski majors in wildlife technology at Penn State DuBois with plans to further his education in the Wildlife and Fisheries Science program at University Park. The Russellton, Pennsylvania native and right-handed pitcher on the Penn State DuBois baseball team is a graduate of Deer Lakes High School.

Penn State DuBois to offer Nursing Home Administrator Training

In a continuing effort to offer training relevant to the area workforce, Penn State DuBois Continuing and Community Education will offer the Nursing Home Administrator Training program this spring in partnership with Penn State Abington. The 120-hour program delivered virtually through Zoom will prepare graduates to enter a career in administration of long-term personal care facilities.
