Our latest Student Athlete Spotlight features Emiley Wheeler. Wheeler is a forward on the Penn State DuBois women’s basketball team and an occupational therapy assistant major. She is a graduate of Eisenhower High School near Russell, Pennsylvania.
The DuBois Educational Foundation (DEF) is a front-runner in establishing one of the first Educational Equity Scholarships at Penn State DuBois. With a $25,000 pledge, the new DuBois Educational Foundation Equity Scholarship will support diversity in the campus student population.
During the trying times of the pandemic, The North Central PA LaunchBox and Penn State DuBois teamed up with Clearfield County Commissioners to administer a second round of funding for small businesses adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
The PSUAC Executive Committee voted unanimously to cancel all intercollegiate athletics competition for fall and winter team sports during the 2020-21 academic year. Penn State has decided to delay the start of in-person classes and transition to a fully remote learning environment for the beginning of the spring 2021 semester at all campus locations. This decision was made following extensive analysis and scenario planning given worsening virus conditions nationally and across the state indicating predictions of rising hospitalization rates in the coming weeks.

David Kozlowski majors in wildlife technology at Penn State DuBois with plans to further his education in the Wildlife and Fisheries Science program at University Park. The Russellton, Pennsylvania native and right-handed pitcher on the Penn State DuBois baseball team is a graduate of Deer Lakes High School.
In a continuing effort to offer training relevant to the area workforce, Penn State DuBois Continuing and Community Education will offer the Nursing Home Administrator Training program this spring in partnership with Penn State Abington. The 120-hour program delivered virtually through Zoom will prepare graduates to enter a career in administration of long-term personal care facilities.
Santa and Mrs. Claus had to get creative with this year’s socially distanced event, but it did not stop them from making the holiday season bright. The 26th annual Breakfast with Santa at Penn State DuBois raised almost $2,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Athletes have sacrificed the opportunity to participate in their sport, yet they’ve remained dedicated to their training and to their academic success.
