Leadership Programs at PSUD
In order to apply for Leadership programs, students must attend one of the two informational meetings on either January 29th or February 5th. Register for the info meetings here.
Launching into Leadership
This introductory leadership program encourages student involvement on campus by recognizing participation in events throughout a number of categories. Participating students will immerse themselves into Penn State DuBois opportunities in the areas of community service, intellectual programming, multicultural/diversity awareness, personal awareness, and social programming. Students will be expected to break out of their comfort zones in order to build upon leadership traits that they have, as well as form new ones, in this introductory leadership program.
We Learn. We Lead. We Are.
This program is a three part series that will be implemented in Spring 2021 for Penn State DuBois students to hone in on their leadership skills. This series is sequential in nature to allow for students to continue growing their leadership journey with like-minded individuals through shared experiences. Each part of this series will focus on different learning outcomes, goals, and strategies to guide students. Specifications for each are listed below.
Part one of this series focuses on the 6 Penn State values and how to incorporate them each into your day-to-day leadership.

Students will be more self-aware and feel more confident in their leadership style
Students will understand the necessity of different leadership traits
Student will understand tangible action items to utilize in multiple situations
Students will feel more comfortable getting involved on campus and taking on leadership roles
Part two of this series will encourage students involvement in not only our campus, but our community. This is encouraged through the planning of and participation in local activities and education on why being involved.

Students will have connections in the area to help them during their time at PSUD and beyond

This final part will review students' experiences while on campus and help them to prepare for once they are off-campus. This will include a number of "Adulting" lessons, as well as how to continue to be a part of the PSU community post graduation.

Orientation Leadership
Orientation Leaders (OLs) are chosen through an application process which closes in March. Those chosen will participate in multiple trainings and workshops throughout the summer and end by representing our campus at New Student Orientation in August. OLs serve as leaders, group facilitators, and role-models to first year students and their families and guests in an effort to provide a seamless transition to Penn State DuBois. Being an OL opens students up to a world of leadership opportunities, and often leads to leadership among clubs, serving as FYS Leaders, and other recognition or awards.
