DuBois men’s basketball looking for a playoff spot

February 19, 2020

DUBOIS, Pa — The Penn State DuBois men's basketball team hosted Penn State Fayette Tuesday evening, pulling out a 76-67 win.

It was an even game until about the 2-minute mark left in play when DuBois finally pulled away from Fayette. DuBois would only lead by 5 at the half, but huge sparks would come from everyone to total one big victory. Russell Gariepy (Albion, Pennsylvania), Mekhi Willis (Landstuhl, Germany), and Cole Morris (Rimersburg, Pennsylvania) would all have big nights for.

Big shot after big shot, and big rebound after big rebound, DuBois played as hard as they ever had for this victory. Tre'von Williams (Johnstown, Pennsylvania) would again come off the bench to hit a couple of key shots, and grab 4 big rebounds at pivotal moments in the game. Malik Gordon (Allentown, Pennsylvania) made a few big plays for DuBois as well in the closing minutes of the game as DuBois sealed the deal with a 76-67 victory.

Gariepy ended the night with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 steals. Morris finished with 13 points, 11 assists, and 6 rebounds. Willis finished with 15 points.

DuBois will travel to Penn State Greater Allegheny on Friday, Feb. 21, in a must-win for a playoff spot.
