DuBOIS, Pa. — The Penn State DuBois men’s basketball team, working with Continuing and Community Education at Penn State DuBois, will host a basketball summer clinic on Aug. 5 and 6 at the PAW Center gymnasium.

The clinic is designed to help young athletes develop fundamental skills, including shooting, passing, defense, rebounding and conditioning. Coaches and members of the men’s basketball team will guide attendees through numerous sessions to help them not only develop their skills, but also learn a passion for the game.

“We are looking forward to opening the doors to the PAW Center to young athletes who love the game of basketball and want to further develop their skills,” said Dan Smay, assistant athletic director and men’s basketball head coach at Penn State DuBois. “Having the opportunity to help shape the next generation of basketball players is something that we are very excited about. We are also excited to show the community how much passion Penn State DuBois has for the game of basketball.”

Open to boys entering second grade through sixth grade for the upcoming academic year, the clinic will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days. Athletes will need to bring a refillable water bottle and indoor gym shoes. Lunch and snacks will not be provided as part of this clinic and parents will be required to sign participants in and out on both days.

Registration is required for this clinic and can be completed online. The cost is $45 per athlete. A discount is available for siblings by contacting Continuing and Community Education at 814-375-4715 before registering. No discount can be applied after the online registration is completed. All proceeds from the clinic will support student athletes at Penn State DuBois.

For questions about the clinic, or for information on a clinic for a youth team, contact head coach Dan Smay.
