Santa and Mrs. Claus had to get creative with this year’s socially distanced event, but it did not stop them from making the holiday season bright. The 26th annual Breakfast with Santa at Penn State DuBois raised almost $2,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Athletes have sacrificed the opportunity to participate in their sport, yet they’ve remained dedicated to their training and to their academic success. Penn State has updated its public COVID-19 dashboard with the University's on-demand testing and random testing results from tests administered during the period of Nov. 20 to 22, as well as new University testing results from the prior week. As of Nov. 23 at University Park, there are 348 active student cases, up from 318 at the last update on Nov. 20, and 4,462 students have completed their isolation period and are no longer active cases.
The grand prize winner of $50,000 in this year’s BIG Idea contest was Sarah Boyer and the team at her company, Antria, from Indiana, Pennsylvania. Antira has developed patented stem cell therapies that target wound care applications. The North Central PA LaunchBox powered by Penn State DuBois once again joined Ben Franklin technology Partners in bringing the BIG Idea Contest to the region.
Penn State DuBois invites all members of the community to share Penn State pride, support the University, and have some fun by participating in the inaugural Roar and Run: Best of the West Virtual 5K Challenge. Beginning on Friday, November 27, the western Penn State Commonwealth Campuses will compete to see which community can raise the most support for priority campus initiatives.
Penn State released preliminary coronavirus testing results for the period of Nov. 13 to 19 on its COVID-19 dashboard today (Nov. 20). The University Park campus received 164 positive on-demand test results and two positive random test results from student testing during the period of Nov. 13 to 19.

With affordable health care coverage becoming increasingly vital in 2020, one Penn State DuBois alumnus is working to bring new options to residents of Pennsylvania. Scott Yeager, letters, arts, and sciences graduate, has helped to launch the Pennsylvania Health Insurance Exchange Authority, known as Pennie.
While Penn State DuBois observes new guidelines due to COVID-19, Santa and Mrs. Claus have found a new way to visit with children this year for the campus’ 26th Annual Breakfast with Santa.
