DuBois women's basketball team just short of fourth quarter comeback

DUBOIS, Pa. — The Penn State DuBois women's basketball team hosted the Knights from Central Penn Tuesday evening, coming close but losing the contest 75-62. DuBois came into the game 12-8 overall on the season and has all but sealed the a PSUAC playoff spot.

An offensive battle started the game, and neither team could miss from the field. The Knights took the 21-18 lead at the end of the first quarter, and a 9-point lead heading into the half.  DuBois came out with firepower, but with a few missed shots, Central Penn took advantage in transition and outscored the Lady Lions by 14 in the third. DuBois never quit, and came roaring back in the fourth with some strong perimeter shooting, but not enough time was left on the clock. 

Malliah Schreck (Emlenton, Pennsylvania) would have another one of her signature double-double showings as the DuBois fans are used to. Schreck put up 18 points, and pulled down 12 rebounds on the night.  Lexey Shick (Rimersburg, Pennsylvania) scored 12 points, had 4 assists, and 3 steals.

DuBois hosts Penn State New Kensington at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15.
