Strong showing for cross country

The Penn State DuBois cross country team competed a PSUAC meet on Sept. 21. Conditions were hot and sunny, with 88-degree temperatures and a challenging course in the blazing sun.

Cassie Carnesali ran the women's 6K race, finishing with a time of 36:51. She placed 16th overall, out of the 24 runners. Her race was longer and faster than last week's event, putting her on track for even more achievement as she competes this season.

Jeremy Troup represented Penn State DuBois in the men's 8K, finishing 15th overall, out of 44 runners. His time of 34:53 was very competitive, moving him even closer to the front of the pack with this event.

Next week, the the cross country team will participate in a local DuBois community 5K, benefiting the Wounded Warrior organization.
