DuBOIS, Pa. — Numerous members of the faculty and staff at Penn State DuBois were recently honored for their dedication to the campus during the annual length-of-service luncheon. A total of 13 faculty and staff members were recognized for reaching one of the five-year increment milestones as part of the campus community.
Jungwoo Ryoo, chancellor and chief academic officer, began by expressing his gratitude for everyone’s dedication to the campus. He noted that without the dedication that each of the honorees, along with all members of the faculty and staff, the campus would not be the amazing place that it is and wouldn’t have the impression on the community that it does.
Several of the honorees expressed their own sentiments on their time at Penn State.
“It is a true honor to contribute to the legacy and traditions of the Wildlife Technology program here at Penn State DuBois,” said Mike Eckley, lecturer in forestry. “With such an important responsibility, I reflect upon my first five years and express sincere gratitude for the local community and the incredible number of people who generously support us in dynamic ways.”
“Working with everyone on campus, the friendships that I have gained, and the best part is working with all the students and watching them grow for the next chapter in their lives is simply amazing,” said Shelly Caine, manager of the Lion’s Den Café. “I have some great stories and memories that I will always treasure.”
“I always tell people I started here as a student and loved it so much that I never left,” said Holli Lashinshy, interim director of enrollment services. “This is a place where I feel valued, inspired and empowered to make significant and meaningful contributions.”
