DuBois softball suffers a loss, but is ready for the second World Series round

DuBOIS, Pa - The Penn State DuBois softball team took on the Mississippi University for Women Monday evening in the first-round matchup of the USCAA World Series. Lizzy Scott got the call from Coach Kern to start from the circle.The Lady Lions would suffer a tough loss to Mississippi, 8-1.

DuBois got off to a slow start, and unfortunately the Owls from Mississippi got off to a quick start on the bats. DuBois finally got on the board in the third inning when Malliah Schreck singled in Skylar Ceprish.

Scott would go out after three innings before Brittney Williams would come in for relief for two-and-a-third innings of work. Brooke Harvey came in to finish the game, but it was too little too late.
