A national robotics competition for middle and high school students got underway at Penn State DuBois on Sept. 7. An official kickoff event for BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) Robotics took place on campus, with nine schools and nearly 200 students participating.
BEST Executive Director Michael Steiner addressed students in the Hiller Auditorium at Penn State DuBois. He said the experience of participating in the competition can be life-changing.
Longtime campus supporter Charles Snapp has made a $50,000 gift in support of the North Central PA LaunchBox Powered by Penn State DuBois. This gift will double thanks to a matching program offered by Penn State, resulting in the $100,000 Charles E. Snapp LaunchBox Endowment.
Penn State DuBois Softball coaching staff and players will host a softball clinic at Heindl Field in DuBois this fall. It is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, with a rain date of Sunday, Oct. 20. Parents and children are asked to arrive at noon in order to complete registration.
