The 19 interdisciplinary research teams that received funding include more than 75 researchers who are affiliated with 10 colleges and research units across seven Penn State campuses.
A new research program for students will be launched this coming fall: The Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses Undergraduate Student Research Fund aims to support student-led projects in different fields. Participants will acquire hands-on experience in research, scholarship, and artistic efforts. They will be responsible for creating their own research problems, study proposals, methodologies, and presenting their findings.
As the school year comes to an end, it is a time to reflect and celebrate the many highlights that Penn State DuBois has to offer, as well as the community itself! In a poll distributed to all the students, they were asked about their favorite places, foods, services, and things to do on and off campus. In doing so, we were able to spotlight some of the best things for students chosen by the students!
For the baseball and softball teams at Penn State DuBois, it’s now the wonderful time of year when the regular season has turned to the post season. Having finished out the regular season games in the first half of the week, focus shifted to post season play, with both teams taking part in the PSUAC championship tournaments.
Recently, Penn State DuBois’ Student Government Association, the Office of Student Engagement, Counseling Services, and the Clearfied-Jefferson Drug and Alcohol Commission organized two events that gave students a place to have some fun while learning about alternative ways to destress that don’t involve drugs and alcohol.
One thousand seven hundred and thirty-five miles. If you drew a straight line between Bayamón, Puerto Rico and DuBois, Pennsylvania, that is the approximate distance you would get. Although he has had stops in other locations along the way, that distance has been covered by Jorge Rodriquez in his lifetime. His journey has now brought him to Penn State DuBois, where he is a member of the Nittany Lion baseball team.
As the end of the regular season draws near, the baseball and softball teams at Penn State DuBois head into this week knowing that they both will be heading to the PSUAC playoffs. Even with playoff berths being secured, there are still some key games left to be played in the regular season for both teams.
Students, faculty, staff, friends, family and members of the community all gathered at the PAW Center, on the campus of Penn State DuBois, to recognize the academic achievements, involvement in clubs, organizations, leadership initiatives, and intercollegiate athletics at the annual Recognition and Awards Banquet.
Investing in student success has always been a priority at Penn State DuBois, not only for the faculty and staff at the campus, but also for the greater community. That sentiment was fully on display on Wednesday when students and donors alike gathered at the DuBois Country Club for the annual scholarship luncheon.
The annual DuBois Educational Foundation Lion Wine and Cheese fundraiser was held at the PAW Center, on the campus of Penn State DuBois, on April. A grand evening, featuring wine and cheese tasting, craft beer tasting, hors d’oeuvres, fine food and desserts, turned into a fun night enjoyed by all.
