Penn State DuBois students commemorated their achievements with family, friends, faculty and staff during an outdoor ceremony at Heindl Memorial Field on Friday, May 6. Just as Penn Staters brave the weather for football, those in attendance endured the rain to celebrate outstanding academic achievements and the bright futures of the graduates.
The Hiller Student Union transformed into an "Old Hollywood" themed banquet to recognize the academic achievements, involvement in clubs, organizations, leadership initiatives, and intercollegiate athletics. The Recognition and Awards Banquet celebrated the return to in person events by combining the Student Government Association Banquet and the Honors Convocation events into a single congratulatory evening. Students, faculty, and staff dressed for the occasion in sequins, feathers, and even a couple of bowler hats.
The Penn State DuBois softball team finished fourth in the regular season for the PSUAC. After two days of grueling double-header playoffs, the team ended their regular season and are anxiously awaiting the USCAA Bid Show this Sunday to see if they've earned a bid to the USCAA Small College World Series.
