DUBOIS, Pa. -- Penn State DuBois library assistant Barb Kopshina will present an informational program on genealogy research in conjunction with the DuBois Historical Society. This event is free and open to the public. The program is planned for 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at the DuBois Historical Society, 30 West Long Ave., in DuBois.
Kopshina will share knowledge she has amassed during 12 years of conducting daily genealogy research and identifying around 11,000 people in her own family tree. She will also share information from a recent genealogy conference she attended at the Genealogical Institute of Pittsburgh. The course, “Pennsylvania Research: Walking in Penn’s Woods” tracked family histories in Pennsylvania through the use of church records, newspapers, military records, and more.
