DuBOIS, Pa. — Penn State DuBois will host a special lecture, “Brain and Environment in Neurodegenerative Diseases: A Complex Connection,” featuring Inga Kadisha from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 4, in Hiller Auditorium.
Kadisha, an associate professor in cell, developmental and integrative biology, will explore the intricate connections between environmental factors and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and ALS. She will discuss how toxins, lifestyle choices, and social and physical surroundings impact brain health and contribute to these conditions.
With extensive research experience in neuroscience and disease mechanisms, Kadisha will present the latest findings on how environmental influences shape neurological outcomes. Her talk will also highlight potential prevention strategies and underscore the importance of understanding the external factors that affect brain function.
This event is open to students, faculty, researchers and community members with an interest in neuroscience and brain health. The lecture is sponsored by the Penn State DuBois Colloquium Committee.
