DuBOIS, Pa. — Continuing and Community Education at Penn State DuBois will offer continuing education courses for individuals looking to learn basic and intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel in spring of 2024.
Basic Microsoft Excel
If you are new to Excel or if you need a refresher, Basic Excel is a great introduction and workshop for students who need to learn the primary functions.
This course includes:
- An overview of Excel
- Worksheet basics
- Cell basics
- Use of short cut keys
- How to use Help
- Basic formatting
- Getting started with formulas
This two-day course will meet on March 5 and 7, with class starting at 5 p.m. on both days on the Penn State DuBois campus.
Intermediate Excel
Your employer asks you to input data into a chart to make the information easier to reference — how do you do that? The Intermediate Excel course is designed to help you do just that, along with many other functions found in Excel. This workshop is for those who have mastered basic knowledge of Excel and who are ready to move forward with more of the creativity functions that Excel offers.
This course will include:
- Conditional formatting
- Creating formulas
- Charting formulas
- Counting cells
- Comments
- Returning dates
- Scaling worksheets
- Working with views
- Concatenate (joining)
The Intermediate Excel course will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 12 through April 2, with no class being held on March 21. Each class will begin at 5 p.m. and will be held on the Penn State DuBois campus.
Registration fees and how to register
Individuals wishing to register for Basic Excel, Intermediate Excel or both can contact Continuing and Community Education at Penn State DuBois via email or phone at 814-375-4836. The registration fee for the Basic Excel course is $105. The registration fee for the Intermediate Excel course is $295. If a student wishes to register for both courses, a discount is available, but you must contact the Continuing and Community Education office prior to registering to receive the discount.
