Faculty member gets second brush with athletic hall of fame

Maureen Horan, the assistant director of academic affairs and kinesiology instructor at Penn State DuBois, has just been recognized, for the second time, in the Drew University Athletic Hall of Fame. Horan previously coached field hockey at Drew in Madison, N.J. Her winning team from 1983 was inducted into Drew's Athletics Hall of Fame as a Team of Distinction during a ceremony Oct. 4.

New students, those in University housing must submit immunization records

Students who are new to Penn State and all students living in University housing are reminded that they must submit their immunization records using myUHS through a new three-step process. As part of this process, students who do not submit their immunization records prior to Sept. 15 will be unable to register for spring 2017 classes.

Farmers National Bank supports Penn State DuBois youth programs

Farmers National Bank has contributed $3,500 in support of Penn State DuBois youth programs through a Pennsylvania state tax credit program. The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development, and allows businesses to contribute to specified educational institutions in lieu of regular state tax payments. Specifically, EITC requires that businesses support scholarship funds for youth. Farmers has participated in the EITC program since the first year it was offered in 2001.

Phoenix Sintered Metals of Brockway, Pennsylvania, has contributed support to youth programs at Penn State DuBois through a Pennsylvania state tax credit program. Penn State Laureate to visit campus for Sept. 11 program

Kenneth Womack, the 2013-14 Penn State laureate, will visit Penn State DuBois on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Between noon and 1:25 p.m. in the Hiller Auditorium, Womack will deliver a presentation titled "Tales of the Forgotten: Selections from 'The Restaurant at the End of the World.'" All members of the public and campus community are welcome to attend.
