A new program in partnership with Penn State DuBois Continuing and Community Education is providing students in the Saint Marys Area School District’s Dutch Manufacturing program with hands-on training in key manufacturing processes, including welding.
Dutch Manufacturing student Sam Rettger, left, and instructor Martin Casilio test whether Rettger’s cube project is air-tight by submerging the project in water while connected to compressed air.
Students in the welding program at Saint Marys Area High School stand for a group photo with instructor Martin Casilio. Missing when the photo was taken were students Michael Miller and Dylan Samick.
Penn State DuBois will host a special lecture, “Brain and Environment in Neurodegenerative Diseases: A Complex Connection,” featuring Inga Kadisha from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 4, in Hiller Auditorium.
