Penn State DuBois entered the 2022-23 academic year with many goals. One of those campus goals includes “fostering inclusion and belonging to promote student success.”
Karter Witmer, a wildlife technology graduate and third-year wildlife and fisheries science major at Penn State DuBois, was selected as the recipient of the 2023 Penn State University Libraries Undergraduate Research Award for the DuBois campus. He has presented his work on how light affects owl behavior during banding at multiple conferences.
The IDREAM team at Penn State DuBois recently participated in the 2023 summer institute on equity in the academic experience, an institute dedicated to work and working together on equity plans.

A planned gift will be used to establish an endowed undergraduate scholarship to benefit students in need at Penn State DuBois. Ted M. McKinney has committed $500,000 to create the Frank A. Palmerino Memorial Scholarship at Penn State DuBois in honor of his late companion.
With the academic and athletics years now at a close for the 2022-2023 academic year, Penn State DuBois would like to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes both in the classroom and on their athletic fields of play.
Penn State DuBois has announced the campus dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester. In recognition of academic excellence, students who maintain a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher are named to the dean's list each semester.
Adversity. That is something that the baseball team at Penn State DuBois knows all about. The team pushed through adversity all season, never giving up on its goals, and on May 18 the team completed its highest goal by winning the USCAA national championship.
The softball team at Penn State DuBois worked hard this season to continue upon a streak of qualifying for the PSUAC championship playoffs. Closing out the regular season with 11 wins and nine losses, the Lady Lions saw their season come to a close on Sunday in University Park.
After falling short of their goal of winning the PSUAC championship in 2022, the baseball team at Penn State DuBois completed one of their season goals and brought the conference championship trophy back home to DuBois, defeating Penn State York to win the PSUAC baseball championship.
