Free Software and Services Available at Penn State
Penn State offers several services that allow students, faculty, and staff to receive software for free, or at substantially reduced prices.
This page will explain those services and how you can best take advantage of them.
This includes:
- Microsoft Office 2023 and Office 365
- Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11 Education
- Other Microsoft products including OneNote, Access, Project, Visio, Expression Studio, and Windows Server
- Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, Illustrator, Premiere, and many others
Adobe Creative Cloud at Penn State
http://adobe.psu.edu/ is available to all Penn State students and faculty members at no additional cost. Through the full suite of Adobe CC products, students and faculty members have access to a host of creative tools for digital imaging, design, web, and video, as well as online services including 20GB of storage.
Penn State WebApps Remote Applications
Through WebApps, all Penn State users can access selected applications with a web browser.
The applications available through this service include: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, OneNote, PowerPoint, Publisher), ArcGIS Desktop, MATLAB, Mathematica, Minitab, SolidWorks, and SAS.

Expression Studio Web for editing web pages is available through Microsoft Imagine.
Microsoft Enrollment for Education Solutions (EES)
This agreement covers Microsoft Office 2023 and Windows 11 for campus-owned computers. This agreement also allows for work-at-home rights for faculty and staff. You will need to purchase a copy of the Work-at-Home media for Microsoft Office 2023 or Windows 11 in order to install the software on your home computer.

Microsoft Imagine
IST Students and faculty are able to receive free Microsoft software. At the beginning of each semester, you will receive an email on your Penn State email account from “User Import” with the subject line “Subject: Welcome to Microsoft Imagine”. The email will contain your user name (your PSU email address), a password, and the link to enter the Microsoft Imagine website that will allow you to receive the software.
