DuBOIS, Pa. – Students, faculty, staff, friends, family and members of the community all gathered on April 25 at the PAW Center, on the campus of Penn State DuBois, to recognize the academic achievements, involvement in clubs, organizations, leadership initiatives, and intercollegiate athletics at the annual Recognition and Awards Banquet.
Student Government Association President Garret Park offered the opening welcome to the event. He expressed his admiration to all the students in attendance, as well as offering his appreciation to the parents and family members also in attendance for their support throughout the academic year.
Park also asked attendees to reflect and observe a moment of silence for professor Anthony “Tony” Vallone, who passed away just prior to the start of the spring semester.
Following the completion of dinner service, Jungwoo Ryoo, chancellor and chief academic officer, stepped to the podium and applauded all the efforts that students have put in this academic year.
“As we approach the end of another academic year, we have much to celebrate and many reasons to be proud on this campus,” Ryoo said. “I continue to be impressed by the hard work, dedication and commitment given to the campus, community, scholarship and learning outside of the classroom. It is truly amazing!”
