Pledging $30,000, husband and wife Ian Kephart and Danielle Fahr Kephart have established an Open Doors Scholarship at Penn State DuBois. As part of the recently concluded Open Doors Scholarship Program, Penn State has made a 2:1 matching contribution to their gift, creating a full $90,000 endowment under the Ian Kephart and Danielle Fahr Open Doors Scholarship.

Penn State DuBois Youth Baseball Clinics set for February

Ball players from the area are welcome to sign up for this year’s Penn State DuBois Youth Baseball Clinics scheduled for Feb. 9, and 10, at the Baseball Bank, 309 Aspen Way, in DuBois. Young athletes will have the opportunity to train with coaches and players from the 2017-18 USCAA Small College World Series Championship Team.

Spaghetti dinner on Jan. 27 to benefit Penn State DuBois baseball

The Penn State DuBois baseball team will host a spaghetti dinner from 1 to 4 p.m. on Jan. 27 at Luigi’s Villa, located at 800 West Weber Ave. in DuBois. The cost per dinner is $10, with all proceeds benefiting the team’s spring trip to the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Palumbo Charitable Trust Open Doors Scholarship generates a half million dollars

The A.J. and Sigismunda Palumbo Charitable Trust has given $150,000 to establish an Open Doors Scholarship at Penn State DuBois. Having made their initial gift before June 30, 2018, the trust took advantage of the unprecedented 2:1 matching opportunity that was available with the Open Doors Scholarship Program. This means the University matched the Palumbo gift with an additional $300,000, creating a full $450,000 endowment.

DuBois Educational Foundation establishes Open Doors Scholarship

With a $70,000 gift, the DuBois Educational Foundation (DEF) has established the DuBois Educational Foundation Open Doors Scholarship at Penn State DuBois. As part of the recently concluded Open Doors Scholarship Program, Penn State has made a 2:1 matching contribution to the DEF gift, creating a $210,000 endowment.
