UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Emeritus Academy has announced the induction of seven esteemed emeritus faculty members as Academy Professors for Spring 2025. These distinguished scholars have been recognized for their exceptional contributions to the University in teaching, research, and service.
The newly inducted Academy Professors are:
- Milton W. Cole, distinguished professor emeritus of physics, Eberly College of Science, University Park campus.
- Lorah D. Dorn, professor emerita of nursing and pediatrics, Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing, University Park campus.
- Daryl Durran, professor emeritus of pedagogy and performance in bassoon, College of Arts and Architecture, University Park campus.
- Hannah Kliger, professor emerita of communication and Jewish studies, Penn State Abington.
- Richard Kopley, distinguished professor emeritus of English, Penn State DuBois.
- Martin T. Pietrucha, professor emeritus of civil and environmental engineering, College of Engineering, University Park campus.
- Denise Potosky, professor emerita of management and organization, Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies.
The Penn State Emeritus Academy is dedicated to fostering a vibrant community of retired faculty who continue contributing to the University's mission through mentoring, teaching and research. The academy provides a platform for members to engage in intellectual and creative activities that contribute to the Penn State community and beyond. Academy members hold the title of "Academy Professor."
