DuBOIS, Pa. — With the fall academic semester now in full swing, the Nittany Lions and Lady Lions athletic teams at Penn State DuBois are also seeing their seasons get started. The fall season will see men’s and women’s cross-country, co-ed golf and women’s volleyball play through their respective seasons. Also, the fall will feature several games for both the baseball and softball teams as well.
The home contests for each team offer the entire Penn State DuBois community the opportunity to show their support for both the Nittany Lions and Lady Lions.
The co-ed golf team is scheduled to play its lone home tournament on Sept. 10 beginning at 11 a.m. at the DuBois Country Club. All other tournaments for the team during the season will take place at other locations.
The women’s volleyball team has a full schedule planned that includes six dates with home events, with two of those dates being tri-matches at the PAW Center. The Lady Lions’ home schedule for this season is as follows:
- Sept. 9 — tri-match with Penn State Mont Alto and Kent State-Tuscarawas beginning at noon.
- Sept. 23 — match against Penn State Shenango beginning at 1 p.m.
- Sept. 27 — match against Penn State Fayette beginning at 7 p.m.
- Oct. 9 — match against Penn State Greater Allegheny beginning at 7 p.m.
- Oct. 14 — tri-match with Penn State Beaver and Cincinnati Clermont beginning at noon.
The men’s and women’s cross-country teams do not have home events scheduled for the fall season.
While baseball and softball are traditionally thought of as spring sports, both teams will play several games during the fall season. This includes some contests being played at home. For the Lady Lions’ softball team, they will host Lackawanna College for a double header on Sept. 10 beginning at noon at Heindl Field in DuBois.
The baseball team will play two sets of double headers at home during the fall season. First, the Nittany Lions will welcome Clarion University to DuBois on Sept. 17. The first game of the doubleheader will begin at noon. On Sept. 23, Penn State DuBois will take on Westmoreland County Community College, with the first game on that date beginning at noon.
All games and contests are subject to change because of weather or other conditions. To stay up to date with all information and schedules for Penn State DuBois athletics, visit the athletics website.
