Golf instruction to be offered at Penn State DuBois

DUBOIS, Pa. — Penn State DuBois will offer two unique instructional courses in golf this spring for those looking to either take up the sport for the first time or for current golfers looking to improve their game.

Fundamentals of Golf is designed to help beginners learn the different clubs, how the game is played, golf etiquette, and more. Hands-on group and individual exercises will help to develop the correct golf swing. The class, which is limited to 12 students, will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from March 28 though May 2.

Get a Grip on Your Golf Game is for the more experienced golfer who wants to improve his or her game and learn new techniques to correct bad habits. The class will focus on improving one's game with advanced instruction. Class size is limited to 12, and will run from 7:40 to 8:40 p.m. on Tuesdays from March 28 though May 2.

Both classes will be taught by Greg Kennis, superintendent at Kenterra Golf Course near DuBois, which was established in the fall of 2004 as a family-owned and operated business. The Kenterra course was constructed using only the natural layout of the Kennis family farm. Kennis graduated from Penn State with a degree in turfgrass science in 2000.

Registration for both courses is open now, and the cost per course is $99. For more information or to register, visit http://dubois.psu.edu/golf-instruction.
