DuBOIS, Pa. — Efficiency from the free-throw line propelled the Penn State DuBois men's basketball team to its first win of the season, an 88-73 victory on the road against Penn State Shenango on Tuesday night, Jan. 25.
In the first half, DuBois' Jaiquil Johnson put up 16 points and teammate Zayver Craft grabbed eight rebounds en route to the halftime lead. DuBois went 12-for-16 from the free-throw line as a team in the first 20 minutes of play.
The DuBois men kept the momentum going as they came out for the second half of play. Johnson added 22 more points, and the team went 23-for-26 in the second half from the free-throw line.
Johnson finished the game with 38 points and shot 13-of-16 from the free-throw line. Malik Gordon finished with 16 points, as he hit 9-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Craft added 14 points and 12 rebounds, and Osagie Evbuomwan finished the night with 11 rebounds of his own.
The DuBois men’s next game will be Sunday, Jan. 30, at Penn State York.
