Courses at NCPA LaunchBox to help public ‘Excel’ in business

DuBOIS, Pa - Penn State DuBois Continuing and Community Education will offer two courses at the North Central PA LaunchBox in August to help explore the ways Microsoft Excel can be used to manage business. Basic and Intermediate Excel courses are both available.

Basic Excel is a workshop that will include an overview of Excel 2016, worksheet basics, cell basics, use of short cut keys, how to use “Help”, basic formatting, and getting started with formulas. Students are asked to bring a flash drive to save work.

This four-hour course is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 3, and 4, at the North Central PA LaunchBox, 2 East Long Avenue, DuBois, Pennsylvania. The registration fee is $105. To register, visit https://register.outreach.psu.edu/search/publicCourseSectionDetails.do?method=load&sectionId=24160240

Intermediate Excel is designed for the Excel user who has mastered basic knowledge to move forward and demonstrate creativity using Excel functions. The following functions will be demonstrated during this workshop: conditional formatting, charting creating formulas, counting cells, comments, returning dates, scaling worksheets, working with Views, and concatenate (joining). Students are asked to bring a flash drive to save their work. This class is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Aug. 10, and ending on Aug. 26, at the North Central PA LaunchBox, 2 East Long Avenue, DuBois, Pennsylvania.
