This committee meets bi-annually, near the end of the Fall and Spring semesters, respectively. IPAC reviews the General Engineering (GE) Applied Materials (APMTL) curriculum including the program educational objectives and student outcomes. This review is done in every meeting and it is documented in the minutes of the IPAC meeting.
Mission of the Penn State DuBois Industrial and Professional Advisory Council
The mission of the Penn State DuBois Industrial and Professional Advisory Council is to advise the campus in establishing, achieving, and assessing the goals of the Engineering: Applied Materials and Mechanical Engineering Technology programs. In carrying out its mission, the Industrial and Professional Advisory Council will assist program personnel in:
- Building a continuous improvement assessment program to include:
- The development of appropriate assessment methods, feedback structure, and appraisal;
- A method to periodically review each program's curriculum objectives and outcomes;
- Provision of recommendations for change as required;
- Consideration of current and future aspects in the fields in which graduates are being prepared.
- Demonstrating that the results of the continuous improvement assessment of each program's objectives and outcomes are being used to improve and further develop each program.
- Developing an integrated educational experience that enhances the ability of graduates to apply pertinent knowledge to solve problems relevant to each program area.
- The recruitment of competent faculty and capable students.
- The placement of graduates.
- Obtaining financial and material resources for the campus and in assuring a high level of community awareness and support of the program offerings.
