When the softball team at Penn State DuBois was selected to participate in this year’s United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Small College World Series, some found it as a bit of a surprise. However, the Lady Lions showed they can play on the biggest stage with an impressive performance during their two days in the tournament.
The end of the semester is typically a busy time for academic programs, as well as the faculty and students within those programs. That couldn’t be more true for the occupational therapy assistant program at Penn State DuBois at the close of the spring 2024 semester. In addition to closing out the academic year, the program attended a health and wellness fair and celebrated achieving full 10-year reaccreditation status.
The Penn State DuBois softball team has been selected to participate in the 2024 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Small College World Series. The national championship tournament will be played May 12-17 at Heindl Field in DuBois.
Dominant. That is how you could describe the season Penn State DuBois had within the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference. Winning 19 of their 20 conference games, the Nittany Lions entered the conference playoffs as the number one seed on the western side of the bracket. They lived up to that seed, winning three games in a row to secure their second straight conference championship.

The week leading up to finals week can be a stressful time for students at any higher education campus. To help students at Penn State, University Libraries across many of Penn State’s campuses, including Penn State DuBois, offered many stress-reducing activities to help students relax as they prepared for final exams and end-of-semester projects.
After ending the regular season with a 30-9 record, Penn State DuBois baseball entered the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) playoffs as the number one seed on the western side of the championship bracket. Being the number one seed earned them the right to host first round games at their home field, Showers Field in DuBois, on April 27.
Penn State DuBois and Continuing and Community Education are teaming up with Workforce Solutions for North Central PA and some of the region’s leading metal manufacturers to develop a program for graduating seniors that will connect them to one of the region’s most in-demand jobs.
Although some cooler morning temperatures might make some think about the start of the spring sports season, the reality is that the end of the regular season for spring sports at Penn State DuBois is upon us.
