Christine Beretsel ’86 ACCT, is a retired executive from Merck & Co, a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company headquartered in New Jersey.  During her 29 years at Merck, she held positions of increasing responsibility in Finance, Manufacturing and Information Technology.  Over her career, she had the opportunity to support both US and International operations traveling to locations in Europe and Asia. 

She ended her career directing key aspects of Merck’s Global ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) implementation including the business process design, development of the integrated system and then deployment in several of the company’s major markets.  Prior to that project Chris lead the North America Planning Organization which was responsible for the supply of product to Merck’s US customers and supporting global supply chains around the globe.

In retirement, she teaches Personal Finance at DeSales University as an adjunct Professor.  She also volunteers her time as an AARP Tax Counselor during the tax season, as well as The Perfect Fit for Working Women, a hallmark program of the YWCA in Allentown that helps outfit low income women for job interviews and reentry into the workforce.

Chris is a member of the Penn State Alumni association, a member of the Greater Penn State Campaign Committee, and a supporter of the BEST Robotics at Penn State DuBois.  She recently established an Open Door Scholarship at the campus and was pleased to serve as the commencement speaker this last spring. 

Chris has lived in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the last 25 years and returns to DuBois regularly to visit family and support campus activities.
